919 WINES
Home to two certified organic vineyards, 919 Wines is proudly local and family owned. This family and pet friendly cellar door are located just outside of Berri and minutes from the famous monash playground. Bring your own picnic rug and set up on the lush green lawn as you sample from their renowned wine selection.
MALLEE ESTATE WINERY AND RESTAURANT
Set amongst the sprawling vineyards of the Riverland region of South Australia is family owned winery Mallee Estate. Established in 1969, Mallee Estate boasts accolades such as Riverland Winery of the Year and are renowned for their cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and riesling. Stay a while with lunch and dinner onsite at the onsite taverna featuring Greek treats and platters.
Twenty Third Street Distillery, Riverland
Taste test award-winning brandy, gin, rum, vodka or whisky at Renmark’s Twenty Third Street Distillery. Kick back at the distillery and sip award-winning spirits such as the popular signature gin with tonic. Or keep everyone’s spirits high and take a behind-the-scenes tour, be a distiller for a day and blend your own bespoke gin, age your own whisky, or learn to mix the perfect cocktail with their masterclasses.
BANROCK STATION WINE AND WETLAND CENTRE
Producing proudly sustainable and vegan wines, Banrock Station is committed to good wine and giving back to the environment. Try a range of unpretentious reds, whites and rosés, and visit the wetlands centre on the banks of the Murray River, in the heart of the Riverland. Experiences range from wine tastings, picnics, self-guided wetland tours, and even guided birdwatching tours.
WOOLSHED BREWERY
If beer is more your speed, Woolshed Brewery is where you’ll want to be. Located in the century-old shearing sheds of Wilkadene Station, Woolshed has been producing award-winning beers, ciders and hard lemonades since 2009. Enjoy the stunning riverfront location and live music, take a brewery tour, and create your own cheese platter from the local produce on offer.
ANGOVE VINEYARDS AND CELLAR DOOR
Family winemakers since 1886, the iconic Angove offers a host of experiences for wine lovers from their Renmark Winery, which is also home to their St Agnes Distillery and Stones Original ginger beer. You can taste Angove wines, ginger beer and brandy by the glass at the cellar door and join a tour of the distillery Monday to Saturday at 11:30am.
BERRI ESTATES WINERY
Berri Estates celebrated its 100th birthday last year and the winery crushes around 30 per cent of South Australia’s annual grape crush. It’s the largest winery in the Southern Hemisphere, capable of producing over 100 million litres of wine a year, with a cellar door to match. You can taste and purchase the full range of Berri Estates wines, as well as others from its parent company, Accolade.
BASSHAM WINES
A family-owned business, Bassham Wines are leading the way in organic viticulture and Mediterranean emerging varieties. They believe that environmentally friendly farming improves the quality of the surrounding water and that our health is directly connected to the health of the land. This is reflected in the way they produce their reds, whites, rosés, sparkling, and fortified wines. Visit for wine tastings, wine by the glass or the bottle, and cheese boards.
BURK SALTER BOUTIQUE WINES
This boutique cellar door has been in the Salter family for four generations, producing wines exclusively sourced from the family property in Paisley. Visit the cellar door in the old Mobil service station mechanics’ garage and taste a range of award- and medal-winning white and red wines. You can also enjoy an hour-long tour in the winery’s 1927 Chevrolet truck, and book into the Salter’s Station B&B if you want to forget about being the designated driver for a day.
SALENA ESTATE WINES
One of the largest producers of organic wine in Australia, Salena Estate employs a minimal intervention wine making approach, so their wines come to you in as natural a state as possible. Taste a range of reds, whites, tawnies, rosés, limoncello, gin, vodka and grappa or visit Riverland’s premier Italian restaurant on-site, Cucina 837.
ROYLANCER DISTILLERY CO
Another highlight if you’d like a break from wine is Roylancer Distillery, where two brothers, Robert and Benjamin Roylance, quietly produce their riverside craft vodka and whiskey. Their vision is to produce unique and locally made spirits that help locals along the way. Located in an old butcher shop, stop by the cellar door, sample their wares and have a chat.
RIVERLAND WINE CENTRE
Hosting over 25 different wineries on-site, Riverland Wine Centre is your one-stop shop if you don’t have time for a more leisurely visit. The café boasts local produce and top wines from the region, and you can walk away with a box of your favourite drop or some gift baskets you’ll be reluctant to part with.
